you know i've been thinking that with so much realism in gaming these days its easier for ppl to camp and hide and shoot from a distance. i miss the days of just running around and blasting fools without not worrying too much about some dude hidin in a bush or a dark corner. im an old school rusher. i dont have that kind of patience for wars and games where dudes just want to roast marshmellows and sing campfire songs. now days i play games like graw and cod and im having to check around every corner or window or look high and im getting shot a lot from dumb ass dudes hidin. b/c i usually just run right to their spawn. so it seems to me they're basically just making games for ppl to camp. and i know its realism and in real life you dont see 20 marines just running around like idiots but that was what was fun. now i find myself getting bored with online games as of late b/c that special fun factor isnt there. is this the new era of online gaming? is it who is the better team at camping? what you guys think?

Depends on how you look at it. If you are playing a team and getting your butt kicked, what option do you have? I'm with you though, i tend to want to rush and i get hit by a grenade. You can rush but you have to have a strategy to it. By throwing flash bangs and grenades you can clear your way to the spawn. Try grabbing 3x flash bang and just blind your way to the spawn. I saw a guy yesterday throw one flash bang, blinding them all and we got the win because of it.

If I was going to say something about this era of gaming vs. the era I grew up with I would say this. When I was younger you could play for 10,15, maybe 30mins and feel satisfied with playing a game but now a days people don't play for a hour at a time, they play for HOURS at a time. Including myself.

I'd rather deal with campers then have online play be too frantic *cough* Resistance *cough*. In that game I swear if you didn't do an 8 ball before hand you simply couldn't keep up with the pace.

Games like COD4 are pretty well balanced when it comes to rushing and camping, and what I like is the rotating spawn points, so that spawn camping or hiding out in one location becomes extremely difficult.

Thats a good point Slow, an average Foxhunt game was 30-45 min. Unless you were playing against a bunch of scrubs. Since the fall of Socom, the repawn shooters have taken over. The reason is simple, Dev's are trying to keep the wait to play to a min. Hence respawn. I preffer non-respawn, but the times of non-repawn I fear are at its end. So adapt, thats whats its about.
