Monday update, which consists of Final Fight (SNES (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3159255#) -- 800 Points), Mighty Bomb Jack (NES (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3159255#) -- 500 Points) and Ordyne (TurboGrafx-16 -- 600 Points).
We don't have official descriptions of each, but the magic of Wikipedia helps solve that problem:
Final Fight
Unlike several beat 'em ups before it, Final Fight featured very large and detailed sprites for its day, and the controls were quite fluid and simple. Beginners could take to the game quickly, yet the game was balanced and difficult enough to ensure even experts could always expect a challenge for every new play. The game also began the strength-based, speed-based, and average character variety that countless other beat 'em up and other genres derived, as one controls Haggar (very powerful yet very slow and vulnerable to attack), Guy (very agile and can use hit-and-run, yet has weak offensive power), or Cody (who balances strength and speed, being an excellent choice for beginners).

Mighty Bomb Jack
The hero of the game, Jack, must make his way through 16 levels of a pyramid in order to defeat the demon Belzebut and rescue the royal Pamera family. Each level is split into two parts; an action zone and a Royal Palace room. The mechanics and level designs of the Royal Palace rooms are directly lifted from the game's prequel, Bomb Jack. Action zones can be split up into several portions, and contain power-ups usually hidden in treasure chests such as money bags, Mighty Coins and Mighty Drinks. Mighty Coins allow Jack to change colors; blue allows Jack to open orange treasure chests, orange allows him to open any treasure chest by simply touching it from the side, and green transforms all enemies on the screen into coins for 5 seconds.

Ordyne
While blasting bad guys, Yuichiro and Sunday can pick up crystals that can be used to buy special weapons, extra lives, etc. Miyuki Chan's shop passes by at certain points in each level. When Dream Co., Ltd. passes by, Yuichiro and Sunday can win a load of crystals or a special weapon by shooting at his rotating target. The standard shoot-em-up rules apply. Advance through a scrolling level and then meet up with a big boss, indicated by a change in music. One hit will kill Yuichiro and Sunday, but they can either earn or buy extra lives.

Today's available games are:
Ninja Gaiden (1 player, NES, 500 Wii Points)
Ninja Spirit (1-2 players, Turbografx16, 600 Wii Points)

As I reported on Friday, today sees the release of the 100th game on Nintendo's Virtual Console service. Along with it, gamers will get the chance to download three additional titles for the NES, Sega Genesis and TurboGrafx16. These games are:
Milon's Secret Castle (NES, 1 player, 500 Wii Points)
Toejam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points)
Dead Moon (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points)
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (NES, 1 player, 500 Wii Points)There you have it, this week's Virtual Console releases. Sadly, we won't be able to follow this post with our usual video wrap up as I'm having issues with my camera at the moment. So, keep an eye on Nintendo's Virtual Console page (http://wii.nintendo.com/virtualconsole.jsp) for some video when they get it up.

This week's Virtual Console update brings three different titles, mostly of the sequel variety. Many of you Sega supporters will remember these games and probably be jumping for joy at their inclusion in Nintendo's Channel. But, for the TurboGrafx16 fanboys out there, this is a sad Monday that will never be forgotten.
Lode Runner (NES, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points)
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, 800 Wii points)
Golden Axe II (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, 800 Wii points)

This is probably one of the worst weeks for the Virtual Console we've seen yet. Unless you're a sports junkie, there won't be much here for your to enjoy (except the usual TG16 shoot-em-up, which has become the norm and might not actually be something you can enjoy). Sad, we know, but such is the world. It is a cruel and harsh place, which rarely forgives and often takes from you when you least expect it.
NES Open Tournament Golf (NES, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points)
World Sports Competition (TurboGrafx-16, 1-5 players, 600 Wii Points)
Bloody Wolf (TurboGrafx-16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points)

Virtual Console: F-Zero X, SF II Turbo, China Warrior
Two oldies and a 64-bit less-oldie hit the VC.
By Andrew Hayward, 06/25/2007
Nintendo 64 offerings have been hard to come by on the Virtual Console, but thanks to today's addition of the much-anticipated F-Zero X, we now have five 64-bit options via the Wii Shop Channel. Also available today is Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, one of the middle children in the extensive Street Fighter II lineage, as well as China Warrior, a bluntly-titled action/platformer last seen on the TurboGrafx16.
All three are available now from the Wii Shop Channel. Check out the official details and descriptions below, courtesy of Nintendo.
* China Warrior (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points): China Warrior is a side-scrolling action game that was released around the same time as the TurboGrafx16 in Japan. It's up to the kung fu master Wang to defeat the Dark Emperor, who stands atop the kung fu world in China. Punch, kick and jump-kick enemies along the path that lies between you and the three bosses of each stage. Skillfully fight your way through all four stages, and be sure not to miss recovery items while dodging enemy attacks. China Warrior boasts character size and detail that rivaled all other games at the time of its release. Exciting one-on-one fights against the game's realistic bosses will make you feel like you're in the middle of a kung fu movie.
* F-Zero X (Nintendo 64, 1-4 players, 1000 Wii Points): Choose from 30 different hover-car racers, including updated versions of the Blue Falcon and other vehicles from the original F-Zero, and get ready to play one of the fastest racers ever. You'll speed to the finish line on tracks that twist and turn through the air, doing your best to avoid the other 29 cars on the track. If you're in a competitive mood, try to win a Grand Prix Cup, get the fastest lap time in a Time Trial or destroy the competition in a Death Race. You can also challenge three friends in the Versus mode. With five separate play modes, hidden vehicles and courses, and an excellent soundtrack, F-Zero X still represents one of the best racing titles to date.
* Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting (Super NES, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points): Street Fighter II defined gaming in the 1990s by revolutionizing the fighting-game genre. Regarded as one of the greatest games of all time, Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting was the third and final release in the original series. Featuring the eight original World Warriors (including Ryu, Chun Li and Guile) along with playable boss characters (Balrog, Sagat and M. Bison), this classic title offered enhanced playing speed and improved character balancing.

This week the Virtual Console gets a couple of good titles, which is good considering that there aren't many retail games for Wii owners to get their hands on. Blame the upcoming holiday (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4th_of_july), as it arrives mid-week and messes up our delicate game release cycle.
Today's Virtual Console update includes:
Super Mario Bros. 2 (NES, 1 player, 500 Wii Points)
Ecco: The Tides of Time (Sega Genesis, 1 player, 800 Wii Points)
Dragon Spirit (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points)

I knew the little dude was coming to the VC, but it took him a little longer than we initially expected. It's OK though, because we have a feeling we won't be doing much game playing this week and will instead spend the majority of our time glued to our monitors, what with there being a certain gaming show going on this week.
Today's Virtual Console update included:
Mach Rider (NES, 1 player, 500 Wii Points)
Yoshi (NES, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points)
Air "Zonk" (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii points)

Nintendo keeps pumping out the oldies with a trio of new Virtual Console downloads. On the docket this week are overhead shooter Star Soldier(prequel to Super Star Soldier, which popped up in November), platformer , Dynamite Headdy and Break out-like puzzler Drop Off.
All three are now available from the Wii Shop Channel; official pricing and descriptions below.
Drop Off (TurboGrafx16, 1 players, 600 Wii Points): Brave five rounds of haunting, nightmarish dreams in this take on the classic arcade puzzler. To save his dearly beloved from the malicious demon that controls her dreams and holds her captive, our brave hero plunges himself into the nightmare to vanquish this evil foe. Deftly use the arrow items and control the angle of the ball to shatter the blocks that descend from the top of the screen. Set your sights on the joints holding the blocks together and knock off multiple blocks in one exhilarating blow. As you drop more and more blocks, their shapes will change, allowing you to earn bonus points. You must use your concentration and reflexes to defeat the demon and save your beloved.
Dynamite Headdy (Sega Genesis, 1 player, 800 Wii Points): Headdy, a toy with a detachable head, arrives in North Town to find that the evil puppet king Dark Demon is causing serious problems. Dark Demon is gathering up all the puppets in town and turning some into his own evil minions, while eliminating the rest of the puppets that aren't good enough to join his legions. Headdy is captured and is targeted for the incinerator, but escapes in the nick of time. Now he's got to save the town. To do so, Headdy has to take on all manner of bad guys and even has to contend with his lifelong nemesis, Trouble Bruin the bear. Can Headdy overcome all his foes and take down Dark Demon?
Star Soldier (NES, 1 player, 500 Wii Points): The standard for vertically scrolling shooters, Star Soldier is the original game that spawned all of the titles in the long-running Soldier series. Go inside a floating space station inhabited by a giant computer known as Starbrain. Your mission: to stop Starbrain's galactic invasion by piloting Caesar, a new, compact space fighter through 16 deadly stages. Collect power capsules to increase three different attributes of your ship: firepower, movement speed and defensive shields. Blast wave after wave of approaching enemies or use the innovative Trap Zone feature to fly beneath a land mass and avoid incoming fire. Conquer each stage to make your way to the final confrontation with Starbrain.
