Is backwards compatibility a big deal?

What do you think? I havnt played a ps2 game in ages. Even though it might seem like a big deal in reality its not that big of a problem.

I say no,People are looking for newer things in the gaming world.Example Ps1 vanished after ps2 came out,and it was compatibale with ps1.So i dont think that really matters,Hell i still play socom and jeapordy on ps2 rather then the ps3.
Plus after u play the ps3 and see the Unreal graphic leap the ps3 made from the ps2 u wont think about playing em.
Think u look back at the ps1 when it 1st came out and that was the shitand i see what we have 2day, ur like wow.
I guess what im try to say is why hang to the old for the new.Sell that shit and forget it.
