Are you excited for MAG? Zipper Interactive's PS3 follow-up to the SOCOM franchise will melt PS3s everywhere with its ambitious 256-player online multiplayer. In spite of the unprecedented number of players being tracked, Zipper's targeting a steady 30fps beat, even when all 256 players start converging on one point. The notion seems a bit staggering, and we have our doubts -- remember the framerate of 4-player N64 games?

Certainly, we want Zipper to deliver on all of its promises. The end of the dev diary makes us hungry for more, when the developers explain their vision: "In other first-person shooters, you might see big events, like helicopters going down, or explosions, and buildings on fire. Those things are all scripted; they're happening outside of the gameplay space. In MAG, it's the first first-person-shooter where all those things are happening around you as an effect of gameplay."

As my first order of business on the forum....I'd like to say that this game (if at all successful) will change gaming forever. :assault:PERIOD:camper:

The key is "If successful". I haven't seen a good game out of zipper since socom 2. I try not to get my hopes up for games anymore. If there good, than I'll be pleasantly surprised.

cant have faith in this game personally...ANOTHER FPS wow how rare!!!!! half of the current consoles librarys arent FPSs

i heard that its a 5 min run to get to the battle just to get sniped or gang raped then get back to your marathon so u can make it back to the battle....but that was what a guy said from a E3 booth so idk how it will play out when its released

i think it will be ok long as it's not a 5 min run to die then do it again,FPS are what is in I guess....I have learned to deal with it and hope that the games that come out will be nice.Hopefully it works for Sony cause they do need that ''Game'' to really open peoples eyes.I'll play it if it's good, but def renting first...I pre-ordering MW2 but renting it first still b4 i buy it..I not getting burned on anymore Zipper games or any games for that matter.
