I was watching E3 and someone was interviewing Nintendo about how some people are saying wii doesnt have anything for the hardcore gamers. There response was "How can you say that, we have Animal Crossing". I almost shot milk through my nose when I heard that. Are they joking? Animal Crossing? Thats the best you can do?

It depends what you think a hard core gamer is? I know most of probably think of a hard core gamer as basically someone like us who plays xbox and ps3 and all these kick ass shooter games and shit. But really a hardcore gamer is someone who plays all games all the fuckin time even those little fruit cake games like animal crossing. I think im borderline b/c i play games like pixel junk monsters and all that shit but i dont play alot of them and dont play as much as a hardcore gamer. I think Wii is only good for certain ppl. Nintendos target audience isnt for basically mid teens to mid 30's. Thats xbox and sony's audience. Wii basically gets everyone younger and older than that time line which gives them a larger audience which is the reason they sell more. Plus they have good nice games and shit. Parents buy it for their kids and then see how it works and think its cool so then they buy another one for a present and shit like that. They dont do that shit with xbox or playstation. I would say Wii doesnt have

the games that we are looking for. But with their new way of playing and their target audience then thats why they have sold more. But they are starting to lose ground b/c ppl are getting bored with it. I honestly dont think mario party and some zelda game can carry a console like maybe halo and gears of war or resistance and socom. idk just through those out there

i like the wii,do i think it could be a better system then a Game cube re-do sure but its fun.As far as hardcore games thats a opinion based mark on the system ...Some people might think bowling a 3oo and having all the carts and upgrades in mario cart is hardcore. So hard to say i think they grabbed alot of the gamers away from Ps3 and 36o...Least for an hour or 2

the best game for wii is the one that came with it.. wii sports.. whats better than creating a big headed cartoon version of urself and gettin a lil physical with the remote..

This is a two-headed question.. because they don't have the games that target the shooter genre like socom, saints row, gta do/would, like exxxz pointed out. But they do have games that the hardcore 5-10 or older 35+ family person would like.. for instance, the mario series, wii sports, resident evil 4 for people that are looking for a good adventure game, and they do dummy down a lot of the controls for other games (smackdown vs. raw 2008 is a perfect example). They continuously try and get the gamer involved with what the game is (wii fit, wii sports)... So the hardcore gamer that loves the family oriented, fun games.. yes, they do have games for them... BUT, no dvd option, a shitty wireless option, and HORRIBLE friend options drag it down..

but a HUGE bonus for all of the OG's, any classic game (NES, SNES, N64, SEGA, and a lot of other systems) will eventually be available, they own the rights to Sonic, Zelda (Link), Mario, Bowser, DK, Luigi, Samus, Star Fox, so all of the games that the older generation grew up playing, can easily be bought and reminesed over...
