best shooter made hands down is a bold statement. its my favorite but i would have to say its not the best. and 40 chill out yo. so many times i have heard so many ppl say a game is going to be awesome or a game is going to suck and then once they played it and its not what they thought. wait till you play it before you start freaking out on the game lol dont burn the building down just kill off the employees that made the game keep everything else

Socom 2 was the best shooter hands down but as far as a series goes socom is not first. The socom series went to complete trash after two.

for a lot of us who played socom 1 say s2 ruined it for a lot of ppl. hit detection was horrible in s2 and the guns were lame as hell. I stayed playing s2 but most of the ppl i played with in socom 1 quit. so each socom is gonna have its problems and ppl are gonna quit i just think if you can just stick it out and get used to it then you may end up just liking it. i think socom 3 and ca are better than s2. better weapons better hit detection more ppl can play in a room. i dont like the 32 man stuff but a perfect size in my opinion is around 20-24.

been playing crossroads and and desert glory and blizzard on socom ca here lately with around 24 and i think its the right amount of the ppl. those maps arent too small for that maybe desert glory is a little small but its not too bad. and abandoned isnt too bad either. frost fire i dont like with that many ppl with nades on. just rediculous

I can't get down with the old school shit anymore...Too many good games out to be playing S2...I love the game best game i ever played but its old and too many cheaters...Not interested at all..It does not grab me anymore and i dont even know what happend to my Ps2

All Im saying is this game aint Socom, it should be called "A collaboration of Canadian idiots who never enjoyed or played any Socom game until they started this project". its huge...But i think it will even out...U know its kinda like ur fav artist putting out there 1st album....Shits always good then when 2nd drops people have there hopes up and its not as good as the first cause there expectations are through the roof and it just not is as good...People have there hopes up for socom but if they ruin this one i dont think anybody will come back to it..The socom legend will be dead...:reddot:

lag on the ps3 isnt really that bad. its hasnt been as bad as ps2. we will always see lag but this is lag i can deal with it. and most games that i have played lag is scarce. resistance i cant even remember seeing lag. I think most of the lag i have seen in online games are in sports and online demo games that arent completely ready yet. although i havent played many online games so really i cant tell you about most of the games. im just saying the few online games i have played i really havent seen much lag and the ppl that i did see lag usually got booted. cod had its share of lag but nothing like i would see on ps2 socoms

The problem is us??? That makes alot of sense, after all we are the consumers buying this game. Thats like going in to a Pizza Hut and ordering a Coke. The cashier will reply "Sorry sir all we have is Pepsi products". So you order a Pepsi. How about a large pepperonni and cheese pizza. "Sorry sir all we have is canadian bacon and sausage, we dont carry pepperonni anymore. So you buy a pizza you dont even want. How about some bread sticks? "Sorry sir we have changed our menu, we dont have bread sticks any more".

You would never go to that Pizza Hunt again. You've been going to that Pizza Hut for years, and now they have changed every thing.

If the problem is anybody its people who post on playstation.com. They fucked this up. Anybody who posts more that they play a game is a poser and a geek. That Sea Snipers Clan, and half the playstation forum community fucked this version of socom up.

It is you guys (the people) that are one complaining about a game you have yet to play and two are complaining about how socom has changed. Damn right its gonna change. For one its next gen gaming. Shit is gonna change the style of how the game is played is gonna change. Socom 1 is my favorite socom but every new socom everything changes. Its never the same. But you guys act like you dont expect it to change. Its next generation gaming. Its not gonna be the same. You guys complaing about armor and movement and who made it and how the lobbies are gonna be and how the ranking stuff is gonna work. I mean this is all done to keep up with next gen. I wouldnt expect anything less. I for one would not prefer to be playign the same damn socom over and over. Since i can remember zipper has been talking about making socom the most realistic shooter game there is. With ps3 they are able to add some extra stuff to make it realistic. what they can to make this like the old socoms. I for one am glad with some of the improvements. I've been playing this game for like 6 or years now and want these improvements and changes b/c compared to what games are now. Those old socom were garbage. The problem is the ppl makign socom. They doing what they are supposed to and thats change the game and make improvements so that it is a next generation game bc we in next gen gaming era. It doesn't matter how you look at it. Socom 2 seems like a near perfect design compare to ANY online shooter. We haves been saying for years how us as gamers want to play an online shooter. Its human nature to fear change. Even in Slant 6 interviews they mentioned how hardcore Socom gamers don't want change. I for one have a motto, if its not broke, why fix it. Doesnt that make sense to you exxz? With that being said, I am looking forward to Socom: Controntation but I also am looking forward to Home,LittleBidPlanet and Killzone just as much. I really wish a lot of you guys would get off of Socom's nuts and try some other games. Cause if your waiting for Socom Confrontation to start gaming again, don't be surprised if we are all horribly disappointed.

Im just saying you guys are just setting yourselves up for failure... you're not gonna like it if that is all you got in your head before it comes out. And socom 1,2,3, ca were all broke. So many glitches so much bad artistry and lag. They other day im watching this dude in bootcamp and i was noticing that when he was kneling down either one of his feet or his knee was touching the ground. On ps3 that would be horrible work. I mean so what if they got armor. What that means you a noob if you use it? lol well i know some noobs on rb6 on xbox making a few thousand a year using armor on MLG. And those guys are part of the best. You guys need to get past the old stuff and get ready for the new. Socom 2 is done and gone. Shit is gonna change its just you guys dont want it to. Yo, dont group me up with Scrubs that cant play anything but Socom 2. I loved Cod4 when it came out and was a beast. I love MGs4, and am a beast. My new toy is BFBC, I love this game. And guess what, Im a beast. I expect change as well exxz, but not the entire essence of Socom. They can make this game Next Gen without changing what made Socom 1 and 2 so good. I think the Clan options, custom camo, over the shoulder cam, and the maps look great. But come on, changing the lobbys to only unranked games, only 10 rounds without a tie breaker round, and switching sides are about the biggest mistakes made during any series of games.

Look at the Mortal Kombat series. Its evolved greatly in the last 15 years. But guess what, they still got all the classic characters along with the same basic format for competition. If they all of a sudden stoped making MK with Scorpion and Sub-zero nobody would buy it. And if all of a sudden the game was won based on a new scoring system, all the MK fans would be upset.

I understand what your saying about moving on, and thats all true. But Confrontaion is driffting way to far from what makes Socom, Socom!

You keep bringing up the older Socom glitches and bugs, yeah we know. We all played them. All ps2 multiplayer games had buggs and glitches, whats your point????? Cod4 has glitchers and bugs too. So will this Socom.

Look to finalize my point, all slant 6 had to do was bring back all the maps from socom 2 with like 7 new ones, moderate the ranking ladder from rank-ups and release patches on a regular basis to fix glitches and exploits. Most of the their ideas are good. I dont mind the knife attack, im interested to see how the clan ladder works, and all the new clan options are great.
