EA Mythic has now opened up (https://betacenter.eamythic.com/signup.php) beta registration to individual players.
There are only a limited number of slots available, and the site says that selection process uses a number of factors to determine the viability of candidates -- system secs, prior beta and game experience, newsletter subscription, and community involvement. And while it doesn't seem that important, the newsletter actually plays a key role in getting into the WAR beta. On the site, the following text is bolded and in red: "Please note that should you cancel your subscription to the WAR newsletter, you will become ineligible to participate in the beta test process." Betas and newsletters: serious business.
