wtf is so great about xbox?

why do you guys like xbox over the ps3? whats so great about it? i mean the only advantage you really have over the ps3 is the online service is better. sure but one you do have to pay for it and 2 sony's plans for their online is gonna overtake the xbox soon. you cant say you have way more games b/c well we all know sony has been releasing games left and right now and our future line up is amazing. And ps3 is just so more powerful with so many more capabilities. xbox failure rate is sky high even with the new machines they putting out. and xbox future lineup is what? And the games that come out on both consoles all i hear anymore is ps3 runs better or has better color and whatever else. Im not trashing on the xbox b/c i have never played one. im going off what i hear and read everyday. So im curious why you guys play it still? i mean with the way the ps3 is shaping up and and its games and its future whats so great about the xbox? just curious. dont flame i just wanna know why you guys still like it.

Well Iam new around here but ill bite on this one,

First off let me say I do own and play both systems, the online service for the xbox is leaps and bounds in front of the PS3's. I am aware of the things that are planed for the PS3's service such as home, etc. As far as paying for xbox live i really dont think that paying 50$ a year(about 4$ a month)for an online service that is solid is that bad a deal. Now if the PS3's new online service can come close to what xbox live has to offer then we will have to revisit this thread and discuss a little more.

As far as the games go I still feel that the xbox has a better selection. I still have not found anything for my PS3 that blows me away. Warhawk is a great game and prob gets the majority of my PS3 time, Resistance was good just something did not feel right about it for me. I just picked up GT5 and I will say the graphics blew me away, esp the in-car views.

As far as the really good 3rd party games, COD4, R6V2 and the future titles, GTA4 etc. I have these games on the xbox mainly because thats what all my friends play on. I really would like to try COD4 on the PS3 just to see and compare the two. Iam really looking foward to MGS4, HAZE and SOCOM for the PS3 and I hope these titles turn out to be huge sellers for the PS3.

The thing about the xbox that is totally unaceptable is the high failure rate of the consoles. I had a launch box that lasted me two years then got the red rings. I take really good care of all my electronics and everything has ample room to allow for cooling. On a side note if I get into this boat with some other people that are on there third and forth systems I will only continue to support microsoft as long as they keep fixing it for free. I WILL NOT LAY ANOTHER 400$ DOWN, FOR ANOTHER SUBSTANDARD PIECE OF HARDWARE.

One thing for me at least, I still cant get used to the PS controller, the xbox controller just feels better to me.

there are a couple things that get me tempted to get an xbox and that is that alot of ppl that play both systems say that there is better online competition on xbox. which makes me feel that im not playing against the best. i wanna play against and with the best. There are a couple of games that i was playing and we see this guy come in and that nobody knows and he is owning everyone (accept me of course b/c im a BEAST LOL) and that person would say that he usually plays xbox and the competition is better there and thats why its easier when they come to ps3. also another thing that tempts me is a few games like bioshock and gears of war and shit like that. ppl say that those games are amazing. An honestly i would love to pay for ps3 online if it was gonna rock. I would but sony says they will never make us pay for it and i think since that is their decision then they should still keep it great like xbox. But thanks for the reply. Yep Bioshock is a great game, Gears was also a great game. Iam still a huge halo fan, I think its a great shooter for what it is. As far as the players being better on live I really cant say yes or no to this. I have heard this from other people though. I will say there are alot more on live so maybe that has something to do with it.

I have noticed the people on the PS3 as a hole seem to be alot more laid back and mature, I have been seeing more and more A-HOLES on live. But yet again this can be billed to the shear number of players on live. The more people the more chance of A-holes.

we're probably more laid back b/c online gaming for xbox is taken more seriously like when you MLG or play for money. like all the videos i see of ppl at those tournaments where you play for money the big money all those videos have the ppl playing on xbox. man i just wish ps3 would get like that some day. real competition where ppl play to win. to be the best. i would love to play in those tournaments. thats probably why ps3 ppl are more laid back. ps3 is more of the casual gamer console. it needs to break out of that habit

MLG ruined the Halo community ive heard. Thats all its about now. I dont think im dedicated to gaming enough to do that kind of stuff. I really hope socom doesn't go MLG because that will just ruin it for me. All these little brats that think their god gift to earth.

As I play on Live, there are losers everywhere, complete shit talkers, etc..

How ever their online is unreal. Sending friend invites through the game, being able to send msg's, voice/text etc..

It's pretty damn cool.

They need an in game XMB for PS3, never realized how bad they need it until I got Xbox.

However when it comes down to the systems, I feel as if my Xbox is going to break everytime I turn it on, PS3 blows this shitbox out of the water.

The online experience is worth it though..

I mostly agree with you, Iam sorry you feel like your xbox is going to self destruct....lol I just cant seem to find a game for my PS3 that really makes me set back and say WOW this shit is hardcore.

Ive played Uncharted(great game but no online), Unreal III, Resistance, Motorstorm, Warhawk and GT5.

Now I will say that the idea behind Warhawk is great and I would prob play this alot more if I had a good group to roll with. Problem is most of the clans out there will not give you the time of day unless you have the right rank which to me is total B.S. I know within a few days of rolling with the right people I could step up to there level.

Could be, But I had the WORST online gaming experience last night on the PS3 playing GT5 online. I can deal with all the shittalking, people just do it to see if they can get a rise out of you. Also i bet 9/10 of those same people would not have the balls to say that to anyones face.

I hear ya man, Actually now that the popularity of Forza 2 has died down a little all thats really left are the hardcore fans. Playing online with randoms is pretty fun now. You still get some people that think there playing burnout but not nearly as much as before.

i loved Forza 2. Never played it online though just one of my friends had it and when we all went over we always played it. THe physics were great in that game just lacked graphics. But it was still awesome.
